The school year started, and the devices are performing like the ones that Brad mentioned above, on startup, wireless shows a red x on the adapter. Over this past summer, I built a custom Windows 8.1 wim file, and imaged the devices as well. I imaged them before last school year, with windows 8 on them, and even though imaging them is a bit difficult as Brad mentioned above, I was able to get it done building a custom wim and deploying through Microsoft Deployment Toolkit. I'm the technology director in a small school district.
